A few reasons why my soul is real glad.
1. Annie had this quote on her blog and i seriously CANNOT get enough of it. Its like the ultimate motto for every girl out there. Love you annie.
"A womens heart should be so lost in God that a man must seek him in order to find her."
2. "To every man there comes that special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a special thing unique to them...What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour."-Winston Churchill
Two weeks ago in my institute class they told the story of a young man who came home from a date where things that shouldn't have been done were done. Upon arriving home is mother ran out to greet him...his younger sister had been hurt and the ambulance was on its way. The mother who was not a member begged him to give her a blessing. Since the activities of that night were not in order with God he was unable. He ran and found a LDS neighbor who administered a priesthood blessing to the little girl. The little girl was fine but the son lost not only the chance to help his sister who needed him but a missionary lesson for the whole family on the priesthood ordinances. Always live your life in way is in compliance with God's plan.
3. "Our willingness to take upon us the name of Christ and keep His commandments requires a degree of faith, but as we honor our covenants, that faith expands. In the first place the promised fruits of obedience become evident, which confirms our faith. Secondly, the Spirit communicates God's pleasure and we feel secure in His continued blessing and help. Thirdly, come what may, we can face life with hope and equanimity, knowing that we will succeed in the end because we have God's promise to us individually, by name, and we know he cannot lie." -Elder D. Todd Christofferson
4. "We Are Doing a Great Work and Cannot Come Down." Raise your behavior to meet your standards....Not lower your standards to meet your behavior.
5. Shout out to the Priesthood-
"Now, later in your life you will be a father-a priesthood father. What you have learned in your priesthood service as you helped others away from sadness and toward happiness will give you the power you will need and want. Years of being responsible for the souls of men will prepare you for helping and protecting your family, whom you will love more than you can ever imagine in your youth. You will know how to lead them with priesthood power to safety." Elder Eyring
6. "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." -The apostle Paul
As you can see I've been rereading all the talks from last general conference in preparation for this one. It's amazing how much divine inspiration there is in these talks. EVERY word has meaning. I love it.
a few other things besides the ensign.
7. I'm picking Brian up on Thursday! Finally. It's been a long month.
8. Almost getting arrested with Tiffany for doing sidewalk chalk art at UVU-and i quote. "Girls, I could arrest you right now for vandalism and I can guarantee you both would be expelled!" My thoughts-"go ahead and arrest me. but if i get expelled im going to die! goodbye full ride, goodbye housing, goodbye Provo, hello CEU."
really though its quite hilarious-now. Oh and also jamming hardcore with Tiffany to 80's rock. cause its kinda the best. Thanks Tif, sorry I got you in trouble.
9. My roommates. Seriously. I got blessed with 5 of the coolest girls i know. I've been so lucky with moving in with strangers both times. Really, if you are thinking of moving out, move into BYU housing with just strangers. You will be introduced to five new girls and five new girls friends which ='s tons of fun.
10. Last but not least-getting the new Dan Brown book for 50% off. Go Marci. Yes, i am practicing insane self-control to notjust curl up in a ball and not move until its finished. I started it the other night. I'll probably finish it tomorrow.
