Last summer I got really sick. I am talking like I Marci Bothwell at the age of 18 had to have a colonoscopy sick. It was awful. I lost almost 10 pounds which is a huge deal when you are already underweight. Wellll after many numerous tests and procedures we found that I am allergic to Dairy products and Gluten and a few other random foods. So naturally I was devastated. I LOVE dairy products. Especially milk, but as a good patient I decided to cut some foods out of my eating habits but I also decided I cant just go from all to nothing so I cut out milk. I have been pretty good about this, I mean I still eat it with my cereal but I never have a glass of milk or anything of that sort. But recently the symptoms of last summer have seemed to strike again. This morning I woke up with the worst stomach cramps I have ever had. Seriously I would just hunch over and try to breathe and Brian would just have to sit there and hold my hand. It was awful. And then I realized. I am doing this to myself. I am eating what I know to be bad for me and it's causing me serious pain and other crappy problems. (pun intended) SO today I made a resolution. I am going to try and cut out more dairy products AND try and eat as little Gluten as possible. This is where you come into play. Basically I've never eaten healthy in my life. Ever. So I was wondering if any of you have some amazing recipes or blogs or sites that incorporate a gluten free eating habit. I would really appreciate it. And so would my belly.
Oh and also. I've been married 2 months today. We are pretty much pro at this whole marriaged thing. AND I am getting my wedding photos next weeks so expect an overload of those. :)
THANK YOU AGAIN!

ahhh! i feel so bad! i will find you a recipe ASAP.
Mom told me it's back, sorry you're feeling crappy (pun intended):). Yeah, you've got to cut out the milk even on you're cereal and no butter, cheese, yogurt, etc. I had to do it with Taj because of the milk and egg allergy. You'd be surprised how many foods have both of these. My advice is to read food labels very carefully and not just assume something's not in there. I wish I knew a great blog for you to go to, but it looks like you've already gotten a couple of suggestions. I hope this new diet actually helps you feel better:( Kudos to Brian too!
oh marci, that sucks! so sorry! my sil also has celiac spru (allergic to gluten) so you should definitely contact her, she has a buttload of recipes. her email is karleenatwitchell@hotmail.com she could really help you, and promise she won't think it's weird that you contact her. she's awesome! You would be suprised at how much stuff gluten is in. so read labels like chelle said. and I used to know some recipe blogs that were strictly gluten free recipes and also dairy but I can only remember one. and most of hers are gluten free dairy free recipes. it's 5dollardinners.com she is amazing because every meal she makes is $5 and under. so she'll help your tummy feel better and your wallet. super easy stuff to make too. I think she listed somewhere on her blog too some other sites that are like hers. good luck. hope you get feeling better!
Thanks for your sweet comment!
I'm sorry about your stomach problems!
I hope you feel better! There usually is a gluten-free and vegan (so dairy free) section at most grocery stores.
