Cora- 6 Months

Dear Cora Bear,
6 MONTHS! How did this happen?! You have officially been a part of this family for half of a year. It has gone by so fast. At the same time though I feel like you have been part of our family forever. I can't imagine life without you. You are my little buddy. We do EVERYTHING together and I love it. You are so easy to just go explore with. You love to play and laugh and have turned into quite a little hambone. You will do whatever makes mom and dad giggle over and over again to get us to laugh some more. It's adorable.

Hey guess what?! You are FINALLY growing a little bit of hair. It's amazing, dark just like your Dad's. I REALLY hope you get his hair. It's the most fantastic hair of all time, dark and wavy. I might miss kissing your bald head all the time so don't let it grow in too quickly, although I suspect that might not be a problem. You are still growing like a champ. You are officially above average in all categories. Your head is in the whopping 76%. I love that big, bald noggin of yours. Your extra large cheeks makes your adorable face look so round and perfect. EVERYONE comments on your cheeks. I can't go anywhere without somebody stopping to tell me how adorable they are. You draw a lot of attention little one.

We have had a super fun month with you. You have gone to NYC twice, Boston, your first MLB baseball game, Washington D.C, and your first wedding. It has been busy! NYC your first time was kind of hilarious. It was like over-stimulation nation. You couldn't stop looking at everything, the cars, the people, the buildings. You loved it. But because you wanted to look at everything you would NOT eat or sleep the entire day. You were a little crabby by the end but still did great considering everything.

Later in the month we made the 6 hour drive to DC to go to Dad's best friend Max's wedding. It was a super quick trip but we still walked all over and showed you the monuments. Next time, when you are older, we might take you to the museums. ;) You loved to lay in the grass at the Washington Monument and just play with Mom and Dad. You were rocking your little red sunnies and it was so adorable. You were cheesing it up for daddy. You and him have a little special bond. You must love politics about as much as Brian and I because you slept right through the White House. You had no interest in trying to meet Obama. ;) You did pretty good at the wedding considering it started so late! We left around 10:30 when you couldn't keep your eyes open, happily, a moment longer. The drive home was a little miserable. We hit rush hour traffic of people leaving the city back into CT. What should have been a 7 hour drive turned into a 9 hour drive. You were pretty sad the last 45 minutes but we survived. It was a blast to take you there. Both your Dad and I love it and it was so special to have you there with us.

your lovely bed :)

Later we had family in town and we took you back to NYC to see the sights again. This time we took you to the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Wall Street, 9/11 Memorial, and on a bicycle cab to Central Park. I was slightly terrified we were going to get killed in the bicycle cab but we made it safely and it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. You were better much better in the city this time around and actually ate and slept.

The next day we headed to Boston for 2 days! We seriously push you to the limits baby. We arrived in Boston in the afternoon and got ready and headed on the metro to FENWAY! Your first officially MLB game. Of course it is the Red Sox at Fenway. You spoiled little thing. We weren't really thinking when we bought the tickets because the game started at 7:20. Right at your bedtime! We got there a couple of hours early and you were pretty happy right up until the game started. So after about 2 innings of bouncing you in the ergo you finally gave in and went to sleep. You slept the rest of the time so you were pretty lively for your first game. Grandma Nielson bought you your first Red Sox hat though and we had your cheek painted so you were definitely the cutest fan in the stadium.

After a late night we all slept in and then after breakfast Mom and Grandma took you swimming for your first time. It was pretty cold so I didn't think you would like it but you LOVED it. You were kicking and splashing and didn't even mind when I dunked you under the water a few times. You are definitely going to be a fish. I love it. We let you sleep and relax a little more this day to make up for 2 days of crazy. Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Easton sure loved hanging out with you. It was the last time that Easton will see you until he comes back from his mission in 2 years. You will be a different person!! Crazy.

You are the best baby, I sure do love you. Never grow up. Those smiles and giggles are the highlights of my day. You are so happy and healthy and I am forever thankful to have you in my life. Never grow up. I love you.
